Is this the norm? I hear you alltalking and I am almost 5'6" as well but still feeling large and in charge!!

That is totally normal and within range for your height. Ignore the ladies on here. A lot of them are TOO skinny.

Actually, alot of them CLAIM to be TOO skinny. Whether that pans out in real life, hmmm....I don't see a plethora of tiny moms on the playgrounds, I will tell you that

That is a great weight for your height.

You are my goal weight AND height...although the height thing won't happen. Seriously. you have a great body.

I feel big and weigh 143 as well, although I'm a little taller (5'9"). People probably think I look fine, but I'm just flabby and out of shape, and my belly protrudes (I had 3 kids). Last year when I managed to do the 30-day shred 5x/week for 5 weeks (only 20 minutes/day), or during periods when I'm able to go jogging at least 2x week, I felt much, much better about myself. My weight doesn't change during periods where I'm exercising (actually it went up a little bit), but I felt more toned and less flabby and stronger.

I know right? Most of the mom's I see out there are no where near as small at the OP.

I'm where you are vis a vis weight/height and yes, I could stand to lose 8lbs. That would be good.

Weight means nothing. Muscle weighs more than fat. I am about 140 lbs, 5'5", and it totally depends on whether I am working out or not. Weight stays the same, but I get smaller with more muscle. I wear a size 6 dress.

OP, I hear you. I mean, you are by no means fat!! but, I weigh 130 at 5'4 and feel slightly big...I mean, I feel ok, but I know I can do better.

I'm 5'6" weigh 145lbs and feel fat too, OP!
I am pear shaped and have that fold above my hips that comes from having 2 babies.
I realize what it really is is that I feel out of shape. I am not fat but just not toned.

I am 5'5" and 155, not toooo flabby b/c I work out tons. I feel like a middle linebacker.

While you ladies are not fat, your height/weight numbers are tending in the chunky category, IMO.
I am not trying to mean, snarky, or whatever, really. This is an anonymous forum, so I am able to tell you one person's objective opinion.
Now, you can have those H/W ratios and be really fit and muscular and look awesome, but if you are the average "soft" female like me, I think you'd look on the bigger side.
FWIW, I am 5'7" and between 130 and 135 and I feel big when I get up in the mid-130s.

Doesn't it depend on body frame? My two sisters are around the same height as the OP but have different body types.

One looked chunky at around 140 (this was the sister with the small frame), the other looks great around 140 (the sister with the medium frame).

Rather than worrying about numbers, go with how you look and feel.

Do you exercise, OP? Are you friends with a bunch of petite women?

If you don't exercise, you might feel like you're not toned, so you might feel "big." That's fairly easy to fix.

And if you're always hanging out with women who probably weigh 110 because they're 5'2", it's easy to feel big. At 5'8" and 140-146 (my usual), I often feel big around small or even average height women, though i'm very athletic and toned and not at all fat. It's not a low self-esteem thing - I *am* bigger than they are, just like my size 9.5 feet are bigger than their size 5 feet. Bygones.
