US New ranking -- why can't I find any MD schools on it?

Don't at least a few Montgomery County high schools usually make the top 100?

Most of the top schools for the past five years have been from the Seattle area. Yet, my friends from DC also rave on about the schools in MoCo and how its worth spending millions etc. Ok

Churchill and Whitman were in the top 100. I think Poolesville may have been as well. Maybe take another look?

Here's the link. It was Wootton rather than Poolesville in the top 100, although Poolesville came in at 105. Actually pretty impressive all around given that many of the top 100 are magnet schools, while the Montgomery County schools are not.

Yes, Churchill (57), Whitman (84), and Wootton (93).

This is really weird. I linked to the list through the Daily Beast story, and Poolesville was the only MD high school on that list to break the top 100. And if you look at the website for Poolesville High, they do cite their ranking as the top school in Maryland according to the US ranking.

So is one of these an old list?

There are two lists that came out recently. In the U.S. News one, Churchill was the top MD school at 100. I glanced at the Newsweek one and if I recall correctly, Poolsville was the only MD school in the top 100. I believe Churchill was somewhere around 150.

14:16 here. I made a mistake. Churchill was 57 in the US News list like the pp said.

Again, here's the link for MD. The story is from May 2012 so is current. If you click on each school you can see the national rank as well.

Looks like Newsweek and US News came out with their rankings at the same time and the rankings are quite different.
