Can anyone tell me if it's ok to take my Menopur and follistim at slightly different times from
Night to night? I'm trying to stick to the same time bit have a couple evenings of hard to change plans and will likely be 1.5-2 hours off schedule when I get to the meds. Please advise. Thanks. |
| I think fine..but why don't you ask the doc/re for a more knowledgeable answer. |

I think I was told a two hour window is OK, but I typically just took the drugs with me and shot up on the go at the same time each night.
Once I gave myself injections in a busboys and poets bathroom and someone else came in who was in the middle of an IVF cycle too so we bonded over the craziness of it all. I bought those ice packs that you break and they stay cool for a few hours to keep the drugs cold if necessary. |
| 17.14 here. I have shot up during a Passover Seder and in my classroom while kids were at recess! |
| My instructions from CFA gave me a two hour window -- shooting up away from home isn't ideal (especially if you have to mix the Menopur vials), but it might be worth trying to maintain your sanity rather than cancelling social events. |
| i didn't think it was too important the time of the evening. My doc and nurse at CFA said anytime between 6-10 I think. So that is a 4 hour window |
| As I recall the nightly shots needed to be within a two hour window (though I'm sure a 3 hour window would be fine too). The critical shot for IVF is the trigger shot. When they say that you need to trigger at a certain time they mean at that EXACT time. |
| I was also told that a two-hour window was just fine... and I bet if you asked for an even further extended window they would probably say that was okay, too. Ask if it's going to make you nervous though - as someone on the forum recently said, IVF is all about "managing regret," so be sure that you won't come out of a cycle thinking, "what if I had taken all my shots at exactly the right time?" |
