I am new to the area and see several classes / camps for my three year old in ballet, tap, gymnastics, tumbling, etc. I would like to enroll her in one that is reasonably instructed and not just a play-fest. I am not a stage mom, just that I don't want to waste my money on something I could do at home... know what I mean?
Can anyone recommend a dance or gymnastics place that your child has enjoyed and you thought was a good experience? Thanks! |

| Where are you in Nova? My ds really enjoyed the tumbling tots class at Chantilly Academy. |
| Cuppett Performing Arts Center in Vienna is good, although I think the summer camps and classes are less structured than the regular classes during the year since kids are in and out more. For gymnastics, Gymini in Herndon is good for boys and girls. |
| Tiny dancers is a fantastic program with classes all over nova. Alexandria/fairfax/ falls church etc. www.tinydancers.com. But I don't think they have gymnastics |

Our daughter goes to Tiny Dancers in Ffx and we're very impressed with the program. Really well organized with great teachers. The recitals are amazing. Ours is coming up in a few weeks and we can't wait. They also have an adorable studio in Old Town Alexandria if that's closer.
TD is all about the individual kids, rather than competition or a team, etc. They have summer camps and classes -- which may be a good way to try them out. We usually take the summer off because Olivia swims, so I can't tell you too much about the camps other than I hear great things from other parents. From what I understand, they sell out pretty quickly, so you might try to check it out sooner rather than later. |
| We've done the classes at the Herndon Community Center and we've been really pleased. DD has fun, learns the basics, and the $$ is right. Ms. Rocio (the dance teacher) is so sweet and good with the girls. |
