What are folks thinking the stock will do in the first 30 days?
I haven't placed an order, just curious. |
spike to $109, drift back to about 81 or 82. |
a spike then settle mid 40s and below 35 by 12/31
What is the value in facebook for someone? How many people click on the ads that appear on DCUM? How can they improve it? How will it change the way you work or do business? It is a gadget and overtime gadgets fall out of favor. Remember your first Palm Pilot with that cool pen thingy? |
Facebook has to change entirely to survive. The kids all use Twitter now, and most activity on FB has devolved to the same few people posting the same boring crap every day. And no one even thinks about using it as a starting point to buy something.

Lots of questions about the company. The biggest is how people will react as Facebook sells and markets to your friends and family with your info.
The other part is institutional investors and the banks will make all the money. Think about what they are doing with an ipo. There is x stock that we think will go to $80 by the end of the day. Out of the goodness of my heart(and to the cost if the company), I will sell it to you for $30 dollars. |
OP here. There's a real casino quality to this IPO. I recall Google's. That felt like a good investment for a substantive service. (It was less commercial and ad-happy back then.) That said, I wish I'd put in an order so I could enjoy the ride! |
It looks like 05/18/2012 09:45's prediction might come true in the first week.
|
Zuckerberg thought for sure all the hype would deliver 30 50 point bump. GM pointed out reality. it will be a long time for the amateurs who paid 45 to see that number again |
g What could he possibly know? He's still just a kid. The market is one area where experience and history mean something. |
pp he knows enough to have achieved membership in the 0.001.club. I'd certainly like to be that wealthy
|
I feel bad that I'm enjoying the FB stock drop. |
Eh. I'm the $109 poster and I feel bad I was proven wrong. But in hindsight I guess I'm not surprised. I posted that before hearing the news about their advertising fail. And then I thought about it some more and I realize I use FB about 90% less than I did only 2 years ago. So. Fuck FB. Burn, baby. Burn. |
the company has lost almost 30 billion in the past 3 days |
I would be happy to lose $1B tomorrow, if I could only start with $2B today. |
Next they're going to try to foist Pinterest (what's that, a wallpapering site for virtual hoarders?) on the idiot individual investors who can't tell a 10-K from a hole in the ground. |
