It's word splicing. "I came here"-- here means New York. But it's intentionally misleading. Her version of lying is to mislead, so she can insist she told the truth. Because authenticity is so important to her and it's a way to preserve her self image while scamming everyone. It's their fault they "misinterpreted."

It's actually astonishing to me that they don't have a better PR strategy. Why is Hillary taking calls from media outlets? Why doesn't she have someone working this for her while she either 1) does yoga or 2) drinks while watching A California Christmas on Netflix? She is reading everything, melting down, getting the entire family in crisis mode and basically throwing gas on it. I mean, the whole thing is silly but I see how she put herself in this prison by pretending to have an accent to gain Alec's interest and then the lie just ballooned. It's not like she killed anyone. They need to get it together and stop making this worse.

Guys we really need to delve into the psychology that led to this. Did she do it to get Alec’s attention? Did she feel insecure because her parents did not respect her yoga teacher career? How did this happen? It would be a public service to understand what parenting fail led to this and avoid it.

Occum's razor says she just did it for male attention. I hear dating in NYC is brutal. If she developed the accent around the time she met Alec then the Pure Foods owner rumor is probably correct.

Ok, she did it for male attention. But why would an attractive wealthy woman be so desperate and have such low self esteem? This is what I want to avoid. Look at the cascade of humiliation that flowed from this. Humiliation for a normal person at least.

They first met at Pure Foods, at the time an ‘it’ vegan restaurant in NYC where Alec (among other celebs) was a regular. The owner was a young gal, a Penn alum, who knew both Alec and Hilary? The owner ended up in jail for fraud after getting involved with some scam artist felon? It’s been about 10 years, so details and rumors are fuzzy. Would it be a stretch to assume the owner gal told Hilary Alec’s type?

I want receipts. I grew up in French immersion, did student exchanges in France, lived in Paris and somehow never had a French accent or forgot how to speak Engleee. I’ve probably been to France 40 times. I want to know how much time she actually spent in Spain.

It just makes no sense. I am a native English speaker who has spent 15 years+ in Latin America and Spain (where I originally learned Spanish for 3 years). My Spanish is better than Hilary's and I will accept the complements but am not native! I speak Spanish daily at my job and within my home, that includes native speakers. This "I get confused" BS is just that, BS.
