I don’t care if it’s what words you can’t say, cars you can’t drive, how you’re supposed to think about climate change, or coercion how we’re allowed to speak or even think about complex social issues like illegal immigrants or homelessness or your company’s DEI training.

A hell of a lot of people just want the federal government and elites across public life to Shut Up and leave them alone. People don’t like that DT is a senile lunatic racist dumpster fire, but they’ll vote for him anyway.

A few weeks ago I posted in the “who is going to win and why” thread that Trump was going to win because voters hate being gaslit. I think that’s exactly what happened here. Trump is a senile racist dumpster fire of a person but he is also funny, comes across as genuine, and doesn’t compel speech and belief. That resonates no matter how the smug liberal elites want to pretend it doesn’t.

You cannot compel belief. It never works. And that is what the Democrats tried.
