Varicocele and morphology

[u]anyone elses dh get Varicocele surgery for morphology issues?

Yes. We are just about 4 1/2 months out from the surgery. We have seen modest improvement, but nothing major yet. Major improvements are supposed to happen 6-9 months out. Dr. Semerjian performed the surgery, and while he's good, he just lacks a certain sensitivity that comes with fertility challenges. I'd suggest talking to your RE before proceeding. Depending on how loud your clock is ticking, perhaps you may consider jumping to IVF with ICSI instead (though I completely appreciate the additional challenges - financial, physical, and mental - that come with IVF).

Thanks,. Op here. Wie actually just did an ivf with icsi, but I miscarried at 6weeks. Since it will be at least a Month before my next cycle, we thought we might do the surgery now. Dr. Shin is our urologist.

My husband had it done almost 7 years ago and it never improved his morphology. His other numbers improve a little, but still not in to the normal range. We have never used birth control in those 7 years and only concieve once with out ART, but the pregnancy ended in miscarriage. In the end we built our family with IVF and ICSI. Good Luck!
