Braces for a 9 yearold

| My son is 9 and our pediatric dentist recommended seeing an Orthodontist. Is that normal? I remember I had mine in high school. |

| It's normal for an orthodontist to do an eval to see what may be necessary in terms of what to watch, what may need to be done now so that less may need to be done later, etc. Also, some kids do need braces earlier than others. |

| our kid had htem at 9 for 6-8 months they thoguth she would need more later on but the first session made the right spance and the teeth came in where they were supposed to, if we didn't he would have had many years of braces and probably extractions. I think at that age they are trying to make space for the teeth to come in instead od letting the teeth come in and make a mess of it |
