| I say Eve-ah, husband says Ava. How would YOU think it is pronounced? |
| I would have said E-vah |
Me too |
| like Ava. |
| EE-va, because that's how my relative with the name says it. But I've known people with the name who say it A-va and even one who says it eh-va |
| ee-va |
This |
| Aaa-va |
|
Romance language speakers would be likely to say Ava. But anyone who thinks Eve when they see Eva would probably use the long e.
Are you trying to decide on the spelling based on the results of an informal poll here? If so, my vote would be if you want it said Ava, spell it Ava. If you want it pronounced Eeeva, spell it Eva. |
Me three. |
| a-vah |
| EE-vuh |
| Eh-Vah |
| Ee-vuh. Ava is Ava. Unless your last name is Spanish, then I'd probably say Eva is Ava. |
| eh-va |
