RHPS vs. RCF Spanish immersion

Anonymous
I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about picking between these two options. We live in the RHPS area so after elementary there is a strong chance out kids will be at the new BCC cluster middle school. If we do RHPS, we'd go to NCC for 3-5. Any advice?

as you may know, RCF will be undergoing renovations starting fall 2013 and be shut down for 1 1/2 yrs. RCF kids will be bussed to Radnor in Bethesda (off Bradley). DC is at RCF and I personally am not looking forward to the commute, having had two kids already go through Westland.

Why did you bother applying to RCF if you weren't genuinely interested in immersion? Rosemary Hills is English-only. A lot of families get waitlisted who value immersion, and it doesn't seem to make sense when people apply only to then speculate.

Not the OP but the whole point of the waitlist is that people get in if someone turns a spot down, right? I can understand being interested in immersion and applying but not being 100% sure you'd go if you got the spot.

Then what is the point of the open houses? Again, many people get waitlisted who genuinely want these programs and it's not fair to parents who are very committed to language immersion.
