The DC Public Library is hiring "teens of distinction" for our year-round Jobs 4 Teens Program. We are excited about bringing in more teens and transforming the public libraries into exciting, youth-centered spaces!

Teen Aides are responsible for welcoming library users; sorting, organizing and shelving books, magazines and other materials; assisting library users by checking in and checking out books; answering telephones and providing basic information to library users; assisting with library programs and events by helping with registration, crafts and activities and distribution of handouts and materials; and participating in special projects or focus group discussions designed to explore such areas as library service to teens. They may perform other related duties as assigned.

Eligibility:
Applicants must:
Be 16-19 years old
Be District of Columbia residents
Have a Grade Point Average of 2.5 or higher
Be able to work 10-12 hours per week


Salary:
$10.20 per hour
