Yahoo Mom's Group in Kensington/Bethesda/Chevy Chase?

Anonymous
Does one exist? I am moving from Georgetown and we have a yahoo mom's group site and it's been a fantastic resource for things going on in the neighborhood, babysitters, school info, doctor's, house cleaner recommendations, etc. I was hoping there was some sort of one for the Kensington/Bethesda/Chevy Chase area. Anyone know? If not, maybe I'll start one .
I've posted this in the General Parenting discussion as well, just wasn't sure where to post.

Where specifically will you be?

I know that the Parkwood neighborhood (Kensington/Bethesda) has its own general list:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/parkwoodresidents/

as well as a parents' list:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ParkwoodParents/

I'd guess other local areas might have similar resources.

The issue I have with the Parkwood group (and this is my issue, not theirs, as it is their perogative to do this) is that I live in Kensington too but outside the boundary that they define (outside Parkwood). The only other Kensington group I've found is for stay at home moms. If anyone does know of one applicable to working moms (or all moms for that matter) in K'ton/Chevy Chase, I'd love to hear it too.

Kensington Estates in Kensington has a general list:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kensingtonestates/

as does the Town of Kensington:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Kensingtown/

Doesn't look like Chevy Chase residents are big on yahoo groups!

Definitely consider starting one for your immediate neighborhood. I did, for a previous residence, and really liked the online community.

I'm pregnant, live in Kensington (outside Parkwood), intend to head back to work and would certainly join/support the creation such a group!

I'm a new mom in Chevy Chase, who just returned to work, and I second the PPs' comments!
