This is 💯 |
MLS academies can get talent from Florida, Texas, New York, Jersey, Arizona and California without ever looking at the dmv in nationwide search |
Shows how unsophisticated you are in the sport. There is no one way to do it. Every player has a different path. A grassroots player has no burdens on their movement as a player to a better situation. Meaning theyare free and cost nothing to a target club. This is powerful in professional soccer. |
How many players are on USYNTs and USMNT today who were recruited directly out of a Grassroots club? |
Very true. But because the academies in those states are mostly quality and DCU is not, it is way harder to pull those kids away. |
How many players does DCU have on those teams? |
And the men's national team is full of players that almost completely bypassed the US system and went overseas. |
The US national team is the best example of how sh#t the domestic system is in the US. dcu is one of the worst places in an already crappy domestic system. |
I am no fan of Achilles but this year Achilles has had more players in actual youth national team camps than DCU. That is a fact. Regional ID camps don't count. The grassroots players are in those too actually. |
I believe PP asked specifically about players going from grassroots clubs directly to current USYNTs and to USMNT Not about ID camps, which actually Achilles had one player at ID camp (2009) DCU had several from U14 and U15 for reference btw There are outliers in every equation |
The player from Achilles was at a national team camp. Not a regional ID camp. This is where the DCU kids were just like the grassroots kids. Depends on how far back you want to go. Before MLS next and before MLS academies became more dominate that is where they were mostly coming from.. |
Boston bolts, Sacramento Republic and a few others have had kids ON the national team. Meaning getting caps. But MLS academies dominate the USYNTs for sure. |
The question is how many direct from Grassroots players are on USYNTS and USMNT teams? Not ID camps As for DCU kids being just like grassroots, all the MLS Next clubs in the dmv at all ages have players playing on age or older players biobanded. DCU has several players playing up. Explain how they're the same on same footing based on that fact? |
This alone tells me you have no clue what's going on. There are dozens of DMV kids at outside academies.
The difference between those states and the DMV is that those academy teams know what they are doing as far as picking up top talent. In the DMV, they seem to miss picking up some top kids or just overlook them for one reason or another. Outside academy teams know this and they are scooping up many DMV kids to add to their roster. And these aren't some 2nd, 3rd or 4th string players either. |
LOL 😆.. Everyone's kids who aren't selected for the top tier is miraculously overlooked Yet other kids they play with and against are selected haha |
