Gaza War, Part 3

Anonymous
Let’s say a foreign plane or ship from An Arab country does land in the Gaza Strip to take people. You don’t think Israel would launch a cruise missile to that ship or bomb the plane and claim Hamas was hiding with refugees? They already bombed the Rafah crossing in Egypt and refugee camps in Southern Gaza many times. They told people to leave their homes in North Gaza and flee to the South only to bomb the South also

These are two angry , toxic , senseless governments that are holding the majority of sensible people in their respective populations hostage

They are getting frustrated and angry, their appeal to morality didn't work (babies! American dollars!) and they do not know what to do now.

Are you reading the polls?

Americans do not support military support for Israel.

If this were true the protesters would not be acting out in the way they have. They are frustrated because they are not seeing the change they want.

They could fly out of Egypt. Jordan and Israel and Egypt and Israel have normal diplomatic ties since 1973. Egypt will not allow Gazans in because they are 1. afraid that Hamas, or IJ, or any other faction sneaks in 2. Egypt saw what happened to Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon and Syria who let Palestinians in 3. They ad Gaza as part of Egypt territory until 1973 and for the 2 above reasons they don’t want it back .

Drop more than 10% since October. More oppose than support.

I’m sorry it disappoints you that Americans do, in fact, care about dead children.

Of course, the Muslim countries support the Palestinians, as do most other countries that bear the legacy of settler colonialism and discrimination against indigenous peoples.

The only thing propping up Israel is sophisticated weaponry and huge subsidies from the United States. The American subsidies will come to an end eventually - younger Americans have run out of patience with Israel and its utter indifference to non-Jewish life.

So Israel is basically on borrowed time and they know it. The more insecure they get, the more they lash out and kill indiscriminately, and the more the rest of the world hates them. It's a death spiral, and it's unfortunate that we have to watch in play out in real time, and on our dime.

Muslim countries support Palestinians in words only. How many of the 21 Arab countries offered or agreed to take in refugees? Zero

It's not the job of other countries to aid and abet Israel's ongoing displacement of Palestinians from their homes.

So they would rather see then suffer and die? Europe took in millions of Syrian refugees. Arab countries did not. Europe opened its borders to Ukrainians within days of the war onset. Palestinians are screwed because they pissed off everyone in the region by aligning with Iran, Hizbollah and Asad. Jordan remembers Black September, Lebanon does not want another civil war largerwly started by Palestinians and Kuwait remembers how it had to expel 400,000 of Palestinians. Saudis are pissed because their peace deal with Israel is now dead. They have no friends but Iran and the Arab countries are tired of Iran’s meddling. Qataris will likely expel Hamas to Turkey (no one else will take them) and Turkey got willing will revert back to normalcy once Erdogan is dead.

It is very telling that there aren't any Arab countries supporting Palestinians. Absolutely nothing. Some Houthis in Yemen firing missiles at shipping in the Red Sea. That's about it. No one is stepping in. Not militarily. Not with offers of aid. And definitely not with offers to accommodate refugees, given the experiences of Lebanon, Jordan, and Kuwait.

I don't know what Palestinians in Gaza were thinking when they invaded Israel and committed those atrocities. There is zero chance there will be an independent Palestine in anyone's lifetime. They had their orgy of rage on a Saturday morning. And their grandchildren will be paying the consequences.

Was it worth it?

Pathetic

We were opposed to the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, it was highly unpopular. But stayed there for 20 years. Guantanamo is highly unpopular but is still open and has detainees. These polls are meaningless. As Jihadist protests continue, more mainstream Americans will be turned off from the “cause”. The pendulum will swing the other way .The protest outside of Austin’s house today which disrupted Christmas for an entire neighborhood will not go unnoticed.

Oh my goodness an entire neighborhood had to listen to people protest the killing of babies in….the homeland of the person whose birth they were celebrating?

The Pope “disrupted Christmas” for an entire religion. He has condemned Israel’s conduct in Gaza.

Your point was— apparently— that the protests happened because Americans continued to support the Israeli ministry conduct. They do not.

Jesus was from Gaza? Where did the Pope “condemn Israel”? These are his exact words along with talking about Yemen, Syria, Africa, Armenia and Ukraine.

“ I bear in my heart the sorrow of the victims of the abominable attack of 7 October and I reiterate my urgent appeal for the liberation of those still being held hostage.
"I plead for an end to the military operations with their appalling harvest of innocent civilian victims, and I call for a solution to the desperate humanitarian situation by an opening to the provision of humanitarian aid," he said.”. Maybe he is pleading with Hamas to release the hostages and stop the war?

Egypt is not scared of Hamas. They’re scared of Israel. How are they going to fly out of Egypt without passports? Also , many Egyptians will lie and say they are Palestinians to try to immigrate as well. Palestinians do not have a passport or state. It’s complicated. There are refugees and residents in Gaza who can in theory get to Egypt but there’s not enough fuel, food, water for everyone to board a bus or walk 11 hours to get to the Rafah crossing and then face a stampede or bombings anyway (both have happened) with family and belongings in tow .

It’s a shitshow there.

The US should divest from this drama

That’s not true. Current Egypt likes Hamas but also likes Israel but doesn’t trust either but due to circumstances is forced to work frequently with both . Sisi’s government was at the brink of collapse before even launching thanks to ISIS in the Sinai destroying tourism but Hamas and Israel and Egypt all worked together collectively in 2014/2015 to stop that. Imagine that.

You are referencing the PLO in the 70s and their push for democratic socialism/communism /“liberation” in all their host countries as well as pushing the Arab massive to force Arab leaders hands to try to collectively invade Israel as an Arab collective.

You can’t force an Arab leaders hands especially as an outsider.

Hamas is the opposition to the PLO and they don’t want all Arabs to invade Israel. They want to do it themselves and that’s what makes them so dangerous. They don’t share their plans with anyone even among most Palestinians. Most people of other countries have an idea when their leaders plan to go to war. They could’ve at least informed Palestinians to escape and make a run for it but nope. They are as stealthy and mysterious and dangerous as the tunnels they smuggle weapons with-the total opposite of the blabbermouth and scatterbrained PLO.

They don’t give a shit about meddling in other Arab or Iranian affairs or getting rid of other Arab oppressive governments or spreading global Jihad. Ehud Barak was right. The PLO was the correct pony for Israel to bet on but Bibi did the wrong thing.

Israeli security chiefs kept warning him about how dangerous Hamas was
