| On March 12, I received a prescription for Differin to treat my acne. The pharmacy said that I needed prior authorization and that they would call the derm for me. They tried numerous times to reach them. I've also tried, leaving voice mails, etc. and still no callback or authorization. This is driving me crazy!!! |

It's so ridiculous. The least you deserve is an answer. I think what they want to know is that you've tried other, less expensive options first, so if you haven't, you may not get approved. I've been going through something similar but the prescriptions are for a condition that causes me severe chronic pain on a daily basis. Every day the insurance company delays is a day I am miserable. It seems like they hold up every single prescription I get. It sucks.
On another note, I found Retin-A to be more effective than Differin, and great for wrinkles too! But good luck getting approved for that

| PP here. I just saw that you've been waiting for TWO months. That's insane. You should contact the benefits person at your work (if that's where you get your insurance) and ask them to put pressure on the insurance company. Since they are the one who decides whether to re-up the contract with this particular carrier, they might have more pull. |
