Last day of school -Goodbye gift teacher? Didn't get one for appreciation week.

Brought dessert for appreciation week for teachers. Last day of school coming up for preschool. What did your child get for teacher as goodbye gift? Or dId you do anything? We attend private daycare prEschool, part of me feels like they get enough.

Our classes always did a collective gift. Otherwise I think I would have done an Amazon gift card or something they could use in the classroom.

I would personally get something the teacher could use for herself. They are probably buying stuff throughout the year from their own pocket for the classroom.

I saw this on pinterest, and thought it was cute: a small potted plant with a card saying something like "thanks for helping me grow".

Seriously, yes, get a gift. Even if it's something small to show your appreciation for the year. Why do you think they get enough already?

we usually do target gift cards since I dont really know what the teachers are into.

Op- Decided we will get a gift card. Bring snacks for class all the time. To answer your question. We gave a gift card $$ at holiday time. The daycare/Child development center we go to is expensive and pays for all supplies versus public schools where some teachers pay out of pocket. I would imagine they are paid better than public schools too.

We did get a small gift for Appreciation week, but the last day of school is next week. Are we supposed to get another gift for the end of the school year?

How much do you spend? Or do for gift certificate?

I have always done something. Usually, the end of year, the class parent sends out an email and collects $$ or has an idea of a gift in mind.

Yes, you should give the preschool teachers an end of the year gift. Think about all the things they have done for your child through the year (and all they have put up with -- these are not easy or high paying jobs). It's not as much about how much you spend as much as it is just giving them a token of your appreciation.

Preschool/daycare teacher here and to the OP saying that we get enough, I get paid 12 an hour. I suppose it is up to you to decide if we get paid enough. Does not pay a lot to me but I do love what I do. Do I expect or want a gift? Not at all. I would very much prefer something for the classroom though. Yes our daycare gives us supplies but not everything that we need or want to be creative. We still have a budget and teachers pay out of pocket for most of their supplies. Crayons, markers, paper, books, dress up clothes, anything really, is a very useful gift. Does not have to be new either.
