| I've lived at 17th and P for 11 years. I've been mugged twice, had my car stolen once and broken into 4 times, and had my house burglarized once. To say crime is somehow uncommon in this "good" of DC is naive and silly. |

It sounds like an awful incident. I've been mugged in that area, and it was because I had my cell phone out. That level of violence wasn't used against me, and neighbors were quick to help.
I agree that PoP readers are entitled whiners, however. |

Not excusing the criminals, but
GET OFF YOUR PHONE. People are just not aware of their surroundings when they are looking at their phones. It never ceases to amaze me how many people believe that they can drive, cross busy streets, etc., and remain aware of their surroundings when they are focused on texting and emails. |
