Adaptive PE

MY DC is transitioning to middle school. She was just found eligible for adaptive PE. She has AUT and functions fairly highly. She has been in sp Ed since pre school. IN first grade our PE teacher asked fir her to be evaluated for adaptive PE and of course she wasn't eligible. Why is she now? I suppose directions get harder and games as well. Anyhow, what does it mean? Does she do a different class from gen Ed or can they provide her with a coach. Her only push in time currently is lunch/ recess, and specials and it looks like this is going away.
Please help advice me on this.

My daughter has cerebral palsy and has adaptive PE in her IEP. She goes to PE with the other kids, but has different goals and all sports are adapted for her. For instance, if the kids are playing freeze tag, her goal is to be able to throw the ball one time to another person when the ball is handed to her.
