Do you trust Zillow?

My house has a Zestimate of $100k less than a neighbor with the exact same (town)house. There's no real reason why this would be. Do you have a similar experience?

Yes, Zillow estimates are way off and should not be trusted.

We had an appraisal last month for $780K and our zestimate is $750K.

Have they updated their house on zillow and you have not? We did this and they didn't include our full walk-out basement in our square footage total. So I updated that and our estimate is now way higher than neighbors - just b/c it seems like we have 900 more sq feet, when in reality it is just updated to the actual amount.

Our place in DuPont Circ. appraised at about 1% below the Zillow estimate.

My house is listed at less than $380k on Zillow. It just appraised for $567k. So no I don't think it's accurate.

I concur. I bought my house last year for $935k. Zillow says it's worth $1,080,000 now. I don't believe it.

On zillow ours is estimated at $935. We recently had it appraised for $1,275 and our realtor thinks we could list it for $1.3-1.4. The zillow estimate is $200k lower than the houses on either side of us even though at least one of those is totally unrenovated.

When you type our address into Zillow, it identifies a house down the block from us, and the data appears to be a conflation of ours and that other house's information. So hell no, I don't trust Zillow!

No. I live in Colonial Village in DC. The value of my street is about 35% lower than the street next to mine. Both are beautiful streets and there is no difference according to agents. One street is not more desirable than the next. Crazy.

Zillow gives you a range and the zestimate is the average. If you dont update your house info on zilliow like upgrades, reno, incorrect tax info the number may not be accurate but in the zillow pruce range. To narrow the range down inout data, idiots

I view the Zestimate as our "worst case" because it is a good bit less than our agent thinks our house will go for. It helps me not to expect too much out of the house and also to figure out what I think if that is really the value.

My data is up to date. We moved last year, so the stats are pretty good on Zillow. Who's the idiot?

No.

My house + Zillow estimate = 686K. I paid 1.2m 3 years ago; realtor think I can get 1.4m = Zillow sucks.
