Handicap friendly long weekend trips in DC area?

My wife has MS and has trouble walking and tires easily. Can anyone recommend any handicap friendly itineraries for a long weekend trip within a few hours of DC? We have a scooter. |

| You might try Sea Colony East. They have a promenade along the beach that is handicap accessible and all elevator buildings. The beach is the beach - not sure if she could get onto the sand well. The pools do have lifts if that would help. The boardwalks in the Delmarva area seem handicap accessible too, although again getting onto the sand would probably require walking. |
