Not surprised at all they talked about that. Real classy that they have to get their ideas for show material from their competitors' personal lives. The valley girl voices are like nails on a chalkboard.

uhhh...the only reason The Kane Show is where it is today is because of all the random stories from the personal lives of people he talks about in his show. People love hearing that sort of stuff (aka gossip)...I get that you don't like STM, but it swings both ways...welcome to life

That is some pretty stupid reasoning, I'm sorry. Kane made a huge deal of his divorce and is known by millions of people in the area, which is essentially the same target audience of STM. Why WOUDNT they use that to their advantage, it would be kind of dumb not to. By your reasoning, no-one should ever talk about the Kardashians...but hey look at what you see all over the news...I guess there are just a lot of "classless" people working in the media overall

Your belief that millions of people care about Kane and comparison to the Kardashians makes me think that your perception of his fame may be a bit skewed. Almost as if you think him to be as famous as he himself does.

But, yea, I agree with you. Who cares if they are using his misfortune for their gain? Lord knows he did it to them. (Every week: "Sarah, did you get proposed to yet? har har har" - Kane)

Hi Sarah and or Mel

Most radio shows get personal to some extent. Some are just better at handling it more than others. If anyone was listening to 94.7 today, Kelly Collis' husband was on air and the topic was whether ballet was a sport or an activity.

I dont blame STM...kane is the one that made sure there was a discussion...it's no less classy than anything that has been said in this thread (that you are participating in)...NVM I take it back its probably classier than what was said in this thread.

If you listened, the topic was brought up because of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner impending divorce.

Oh, I didn't listen to it. I just assumed you were making a connection to the Kane show b.c thats what everyone has been talking about when they mention STM.. and you didn't make it clear in the original post, my mistake.

Well...I don't think Kane is particularly famous, although I do think he is fairly well known in the DC area (not on a celebrity level, but still). I personally hate the Kardashians and don't understand America's obsession with them . As for Kane, I stopped listening to him years ago when the show went down the drain (or I grew up, not sure which happened first). I'm simply arguing that people love to hear gossip about other peoples personal lives, regardless of who it is. And that Kane does the same thing to other people to get ideas for his shows. Regardless, someone said that STM segment was in reference to the whole Ben Afleck scandal. So I guess we were both wrong =S

P is still doing exactly this to Natasha, if you have been listening recently. The jabs at her have not been so subtle. Maybe it's a radio thing
