Please post the score and which school and type of school you got that from (at least provide the type private school, AAP center school, school with AAP local, or plain regular school).
9 from AAP local |

6 from Oakhill, high test scores 160 on NNAT
|
| 11:58 and 12:02 - do you think those scores impacted your child's admission? In other words, were your children found eligible with those GBRS ratings? |
| Of course not with a GBRS of 6, It is totally unfair. |
| GBRS weighs heavily pushes off high scores as well. |
11:58 here. GBRS score highly impact admission. Not sure what the question was for? Anyways my kid was found eligible. Trying to collect some data for curiosity. Personally I think GBRS is subjective and inconsistent. |
|
The question was asked about the impact of the GBRS because most people assume that a rating less than 10 would constitute a non-eligible decision.
If your child was admitted with a 6 or 9, then that seems out of the norm. |
Yes, from the data I saw last year, GBRS less than 10 is non-eligible decision most of the time. My kid is one of the rare cases. |
| How do youi find out what your GBRS was? Do most people find out? |
Yes, ask your school(AART). They are obligated to provide you the file after a certain date. It's your right. |
I think you should appeal with WISC. I'm sure your kid will have good WISC scores with that NNAT score. I also think GBRS is very subjective and inconsistent. GBRS 6 for the perfect score on NNAT is just not right... Teachers/AART should be educated to have some common rules, and also should understand introvert kids don't raise hands all the time and some bright kids get bored with unchallenging materials. I heard some private schools gave out very generous GBRS, but wonder many 15/16 are given in local schools as well. Btw, mine has 12 from AAP local. |
Thanks I am planning for the WISC, did ur child get in? |
| It seems odd that some children have such a difference in assessment with a low GBRS scores and very high grades and test scores. Other than some type of special need, is there any reason a teacher would give say a GBRS under 10 to a child that gets all O's and has high test scores? Being quiet in class doesn't really seem to be enough. |

GBRS was 16, AAP center school
I asked our AAPRT for DC file- they sent it home with my child. The GBRS score was a composite of 4 teachers and all their comments were consolidated into a unified commentary in support of the score. |
| Does anyone think my DC who is very shy and rarely raises her hand in school could get a high GBR score next year when we go through the application process? DC is extremely bright and tests well, but am worried about this. DC works well with others, but is not a "leader" yet in academic setting. |
