| I have been HGTV watching for a few days and these old Victorian homes with historical pasts are so interesting. What areas in MD, DC, VA would you find a historic home for sale? |
| In MD, downtown Rockville has a number of old Victorian homes...Takoma Park also. There are pockets of Silver spring, Gaithersburg, even Olney with some older farmhouses and other styles of 1800-1900 homes. |
|
Historic (though not Victorians): Georgetown.
Historic looking: Chevy Chase MD Closest thing to Victorians I've seen around this area (I live in DC so don't know much about the burbs): Cleveland Park. Seen some beautiful houses w/ the larger wraparound porches and a little victorian looking tower on some of the back streets of CP. |
|
Takoma Park -- gorgeous historic district. Many of the houses sell privately, though, b/c they are quite sought after and turn over very infrequently (think every 30-40 years).
Meg Finn does have one coming on line in late Spring or early Summer, on Maple. I think it is the oldest Victorian on the block (the yellow house w/ turret). |
| Chevy Chase Village, Kensington, Cleveland Park, Chevy Chase DC. |

Basically anywhere that wasn't a wide spot in the road in 1900.
In VA: Winchester, Front Royal, Warrenton, Leesburg, Middleburg, Fredericksburg, LOTS in Richmond In MD: Annapolis, Frederick, Hagerstown, LOTS in Bawlmer. |
| Also in southern Prince George's County. |
