In case you haven't heard there is an impending disaster coming for the night of the 28th in Wootton neighborhood. What started as a planned Wootton student event has blossomed into an event open to anyone with cash in their hand. Its a concert with popular rock groups on the football field at Wootton High School hosted by John King of CNN. Its called "Rock the Vote. Originally it was planned for Wootton students and their "friends. Now news of this event is spreading like wildfire. They are going to have to hire about 100 police officers just to keep order and that is not going to be any guarantee. If I lived in that neighborhood I would be livid.
This was snagged off of the Internet and is just an indication of how far away some people are coming from. So they are selling tickets in advance. The Attorney General of MD is speaking at the event. The Wootton stadium isn't that big even with the field so probably not that much bigger a crowd than a Friday night football game. Where is the disaster? |
I would say that the problem is going to be parking and droves of teenagers walking through neighborhoods. Wootton's parking lot couldn't hold 500 cars so the other thousands are going to have to park somewhere. You know that most are going to bring alcohol and or/weed so its going to be a major headache for law enforcement. |
I think you may be overreacting. They are teenagers, not convicted felons. |
John King? Oooooh ... bound to be all types of crazy antics if John King speaks. (NOT.) |
I love Third Eye Blind. Might have to check this out myself. |
Wow. Melodramatic much?? I heard that they were capping the number of tickets and that a lot of police will be on overtime to prevent the sort of stuff that you are "afraid" of. |
Well - thank you for the heads up! I live right around the corner from Wootton and on regular school event nights, cars are parked all over my 'hood. I'll hear the music from my house. |
Given OP's hysterical reaction, I was expecting a panoply of death metal bands, some gangsta rap, and the US head of al-Qaeda. Instead I get - Third Eye Blind? John King? Doug Gansler (the top law enforcement official in MD)? Bob Ehrlich?
The only way this could get more raucous is if they invited Debbie Reynolds and Julie Andrews. Perhaps Marie Osmond. OP, take a pill and enjoy the show. |
And John King's daughter attends Wootton |
I think OP overestimates that popularity of Third Eye Blind, |
Heh |
You should sell tickets to let people sit in your front yard. Maybe sell beer from a cooler to passerby. |
OP, would you be okay with this Rock The Vote event if Bill O'Reilly was hosting and the featured bands included Kid Rock, Ted Nugent and Alabama?
