Was so nervous about taking it I chugged 5 glasses of water and waited until I felt like my bladder was going to explode. When I finally went to take it, I peed so fast and hard I peed all over the stick, into the results window and well....everywhere
I'm such an idiot. I told dh I dropped it so we have to go buy more since it may have been contaminated. I couldn't bring myself to admit I'm a sloppy peerer. Ugh so embarrassed! I guess now I have to wait for tomorrow! Anyone know a good brand?

If it makes you feel any better you may have drunk so much your pee was too diluted to register the needed HCG to make a positive for the test...Any brand test should be fine to get. I like to buy the bulk cheap ones sold on Amazon.

Pee in a cup (disposable of course) and then that won't be an issue. And don't chug water beforehand, like the previous poster suggested; it dilutes the hormone that the test is supposed to be registering. Good luck!

Yes! Yes! You are NOT supposed to drink water before testing.

Ah thanks pps. Can you tell we've just started the journey? Question about peeing in a cup, does it have to be like a cup that you'd be into for a urine test? Or will any cup be OK? Worried about any contamination that may screw up the results.

Disposable cups are best because of the ick factor. You can certainly use regular cups if you are ok with that. Contamination is not a concern unless pregnant women normally urinate on your dishes.

I used a ziplock baggie because I didn't have any of those dixie cups on hand.

And, seriously OP, take a deep breath, honey. Any clean container that will hold urine will do. Dixie cup, your favorite coffee mug, a ziploc bag, tupperware, whatever. (The bag is a rather ingenious idea, actually.) The cups that doctors give us for urine tests are not special. You just want something that holds enough pee for you to dip the stick/strip into it.

Op here ...of course it doesn't help that at 26, none of my friends are trying, no family close in age and I'm adopted so no asking my mom! Lol thank goodness for this forum and the nice posters on here

I cut a disposable soda/water bottle in half and peed in that, and dipped the stick in for both ovulation predictor tests and pregnancy tests. Worked fine!
