My junior just got her license and I need for her to drive herself to school this week. I've seen hundreds of cars parked along tuckerman and gainesborough. Is this non permit parking? Does the neighorhood surrounding the school have permit parking? I know the lot is for staff/visitors and seniors chosen from a lottery. I'm looking for a little guidance before she heads off to school in the morning. TIA! |

It also seems strange that an 11th grader would not know the parking rules. |
Please remember, she is a Churchill student. You first need to explain to your daughter what a rule is before you jump to the next step of finding out whether or not she is breaking a rule. |
Is there no bus that can take her to school? |
Silly PP 19:22. Kids from Potomac don't ride public transportation! |
Seriously, must we have this kind of comment? We live in Potomac and would never think of not using a school bus. |
Poor Potomac parenting. |
I deal with Potomac parents and their kids as part of my job. The parents are poor decision makers and they pass that trait down to the kids. If this kid has gone to the school for three years and doesn't know where to park or what the rules are its pitiful. On the other hand instead of getting into her car and reading the signs, which the kid apparently has not done in three years, relies on an Internet site for information.
Amazing. Do you see any parent from Quince Orchard, Poolesville, or Damascus being incapable of figuring out such a simple problem? |
Hmm..I have parked on Gainsborough for after school sports events at Churchill before (as recently as last week in fact). But at our W school there is no parking in the surrounding neighborhood from 8-4 or something like that (never paid attention to how that is enforced - maybe zone stickers?). |
Wow, let's all pile on the Potomac parents shall we? It make us feel oh so superior to those supposedly rich, spoiled families to put them down. Really people, grow up! |
In all seriousness, why can't she take the school bus? Why would anyone think it's a good idea to put a new driver on clogged roads at rush hour? Why add to the congestion? And why teach a teen that although public transport is available, driving is ok under these circumstances? |
Are you serious? A Churchill junior taking a school bus? She would have to hide in shame for the rest of her time at Churchill. |
Surely Churchill has a helipad... |
This is very sad. No wonder traffic is such a nightmare, and pollution so bad in our area. My Blair senior takes the bus every day, as do his friends. It would never occur to him to drive to school. |
My daughter is on the bus to BCC every day.
I see negligent parenting here. Either this mother has too many kids or she just does not care. |
