I don't if many DCUMers were politically conscious during the dark days of this man's heyday as Nixon's hatchet man, but he wrote the book for Lee Atwater, Karl Rove, Breitbart and that ilk. He went on after his "christian conversion" in jail for Watergate crimes to become a hatchet man for christian conservative movement in this country. He was the embodiment of evil as far as I'm concerned, and the world is better place with him gone. Good riddance. Too bad Hunter Thompson isn't around to write his obit, though. |

Colson was also a co-author of the Manhattan Declaration http://www.manhattandeclaration.org/the-declaration/read.aspx and he actively campaigned against marriage equality and other equality issues for LGBT persons. His hate and spewn bile was a poison upon modern discourse.

Keeping in mind that you are quoting someone who defended child pornography during his time with the ACLU.
So, are all people with different religious and political views "the embodiment of evil...and the world is a better place with them gone" or just the ones who are public figures who have made mistakes? |
