Speaking of rings

I inherited a diamond solitaire and am thinking about having it re-made into a three-stone ring, because I don't care for solitaires much.

Would it be odd to wear a three-stone ring on my right hand?

Nope. Do it.

I love my marguerite. Kind of like this:

Except mine has marquise shaped sapphires interspersed with small round diamonds, around a larger central diamond. (Not as flashy as it sounds, but rather elegant IMO.)

I personally prefer solitaire over 3-stones - feel they look a little tired or dated. What's the size? That makes a big difference.

Also depends on what you're wearing on your ring finger.

OP here. The solitaire is one carat and round/brilliant-cut.

I don't care for solitaires, never have.

My engagement ring is three stones, but not all diamonds.

I wear a 3 stone ring on my right hand. My husband gave it to me on our 10th anniversary. I didn't want to replace my engagement ring and it didn't "go" with my wedding band, but I love it, so I wear it on my right hand. I never really thought about it. I think it looks fine.

OP, do you wear that 3-stone engagement ring daily? Might look odd to have one on each hand.

I love the marguerite posted upthread.

It depends on how "matchy" they are. My engagement ring has a center stone and two baguettes. My wedding band and my 5 year anniversary band have two baguettes and go on top/bottom of my wedding band.

On my right hand I wear I three stone ring, but two of the stones are colored and there is a larger diamond in the middle. I think it helps that my right hand diamond is twice the size of my engagement ring, but also because the rings are not at all matchy as between hands. If, for example, OP's engagement ring has stones that are the same size, she could mix it up for the new one. Or vice versa. I think OP can do what she wants.
