Catholic League threatens Jon Stewart with boycott over ‘vagina manger’ joke on ‘Daily Show’

This segment aired on April 16th, I thought it was really funny and made a good point. Apparently the Catholic league doesn't appreciate satire.

Not sure I completely understand what upsets folks particularly. Is it the whole graphic itself or just the discretion of a manger? I honestly do not wish to offend anyone, just wanted to hear why people are upset by this specifically (truly can't be the worst Stewart has done on his show!)

Given the likely overlap of Catholic League supporters and the Daily Show audience, a 100% successful boycott would actually increase the number of Stewart's viewers. Far more people will tune in due to the controversy then will boycott.

I think you are right and that makes me wonder even more, why the boycott? Especially since he could probably benefit from the attention.

The Catholic League itself has probably only 250,000 members and most of them are just writing a small check every year like you would to the Leukemia Society.
