How far of a walk is it from Conn Ave and Nebraska to Tenleytown metro? I know it depends on how fast you walk but a nice stroll? Also from there to Friendship Heights metro?
Use google maps.
It's about a mile. Takes me a little over 10-12 minutes to walk from TT metro to Comet Ping Pong. Walk signals permitting...
|
depending on which direction you are headed it can be a hike uphill.
fast pace/light job then yes 10 to 12 min/ leisurly stroll? 20-25 min. A mile to AU or FH not a good option if you are looking to commute to work on a daily basis. think of rain, snow, etc wish i had done this. Wound up with a 2nd care and have to fund strreet parking near my house plus monthly fee int he city, insurance etc. just beware. |
sorry - ETA spelled wrong bc I am on the go in my car commuting to stupid CT and Nebraska ave bc the metro is not a good long term option
I'm not familiar with the area you are referencwing. I do live just over a mile from a Metro, and find it to be a pleasant 15-20 min walk. I would add though that I find it really useful to have a bus line 2 blocks away, that takes me there direct if it is cold.
We live 0.7 miles from metro in an area with no hills and walk ranges from 12-18 mins or so depending on crosswalk signals....
You can also walk down to Van Ness, it's about a mile as well. I did it for several years and found it pretty enjoyable. The bus also runs straight down CT, so you have that as a back-up option to the Metro
THanks, everyone for your posts. Sounds like it would be a 20 minute walk for me, but it will be good exercise anyway.
