| AMAZON TARGETS AS MANY AS 30,000 JOB CUTS - SOURCES AMAZON JOB CUTS TO BEGIN TUESDAY -SOURCES |
This is because of AI, which isn’t going to be stopped by any of the paid off politicians in both parties. Amazon announced that robots will replace 600,000 workers by 2030. |
It is not AI. The reports all say it is “to pare expenses and compensate for overhiring during the peak demand of the pandemic.” This is corporate speak for dropping demand. |
Again, Amazon is going to cut 600,000 and replace them with robots. Source: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/amazon-plans-shift-600k-jobs-193000627.html 30,000 is a drop in the bucket. AI is coming for everyone’s jobs and none of your favorite politicians are going to stop it. We are all screwed. With Trump. With Kamala. It’s all the same. |
The specific post was about the 30k that’s actually happening this week and that is not about AI, it is about the economy going to shit. The 600k is speculative puff. |
| Interesting that MAGA seems to be pivoting away from claiming the economy is great to arguing it would have sucked just as bad if Trump lost! |
|
Hmmm what could have happened in January? |
Not a Boomer but thanks for playing. |
Why? They have jobs they’ll be able to retire from before AI or robots are even remotely close to replacing them. |
Yes, but AI is how they announce layoffs with positive spin. Reality no one is buying the crap, and tariffs are depressing sales. They need to unload employees even though the automation is a pipe dream. |
Amazon’s stock is up at least 5-6% and reports earnings this week. How about we come back later this week when they blow out quarterly earnings and you can admit you’re wrong. |
Who cares if private sector jobs are disappearing as long as the stock market is propped up for those who can afford to invest in it. |
As someone involved in AI, it isn’t coming for jobs yet. Most companies that have rolled out AI solutions are very unhappy with them. AI isn’t sophisticated yet and we haven’t solved the hallucination problem yet. |
TRUMP DID THIS !!! |
|
UPS cutting 40,000 jobs
Chegg cutting 45% of its workforce That isn't AI layoffs even if they may use it as an excuse. Face it, the economy is falling apart |
