I don’t think that was trolling rather just a commentary that it is a very talented team that now sits at 2-3. I don’t have any specifics just looking at their record tells me that that os a fair assessment.

Picks were pretty good this week overall, but I'm happy to say that my biggest miss of the season on a W/L was Stars LB's big upset.

Pride gutted out a tough 4-3 win, beating MDU East with a full-field, hustle-driven effort, in a game that could have had a bigger spread with some cleaner play and converted opportunities. Stars, playing MDU in their second game, pulled it out 8-6 with good attack and goalie/defense play, winning the second half 4-2.

Pride and Stars now sit in 3rd and 4th place separated by only Goals Against, in what must be a first for the NGLL Mid-Atlantic division with 6 out of 8 games played.

There are significant playoff implications from these wins, with Pride set up for a shot at the #2 or 3 seed if they win out, and Stars having a shot at the 5th or even 4th seed, if they do the same. Pride's seeding depends on the Hero's Green vs Coppermine matchup in game 8, and Stars seed will most likely come down to Goals Against compared to Crush.

Looking ahead, that means that Pride is likely to get Sky Walkers (if #2 seed), or M&D (if #3), in a first round playoff; Stars will almost certainly play Crush either way. If Stars pull out an even bigger upset against Coppermine, everything changes.

Week 4 Results--

> STARS -3 (6-3) --Stars Light Blue -4 vs MD United West (I've got Stars overcoming their surprising losses to MD United West in the Fall, and exceeding their predicted margin)

< PRIDE -17 (17-0) --Pride Red -13 vs MC Elite (Pride plays MC Elite in their first of a double header. Given the focus on the second game, they will likely try and shut down and play a controlled second half)

= PRIDE -1 (4-3) --Pride Red -1 vs MD United East (Only an hour to transition to their biggest game of the regular season and get back into a competitive mindset. Even if they jumped MDU in the rankings, a win here would be a first, and an upset for Pride. Calling it, but a close game)

*** STARS -2 (8-6) --MD United East -5 over Stars LB (MDU East plays Pride first; but they will be tough to handle if they lose) WRONG

Key Matchups

> HERO’S -2 (7-5) --Hero's Green -3 vs M&D Black (Playoff seeding implications here, and M&D will come to play, but Hero's Green will over-perform a bit)

The Rest

> C/MINE -3 (9-6) --Coppermine -10 vs M&D Red (M&D Red came back to earth last week. Expecting a similar spread against Coppermine)

< C/MINE -11 (14-3) --Coppermine -10 vs 3d Maryland (Tough matchups for 3D MD this weekend. They come in 3-1, but after getting taken to the woodshed by Sky Walkers, not sure they will be able to compete)

< M&D Bl -9 (13-4) --M&D Black -8 vs MD United West (M&D will be looking to bounce back after a loss to Hero's Green)

< CRUSH -10 (12-2) --Crush -8 vs 3d Maryland (Crush is playing very well and will over perform against the expected spread)

> CRUSH -2 (8-6) --Crush -3 vs Sky Walkers (Which Sky Walkers team will show up? A very hard team to predict; they could win this game by 4, or lose by 7, depending on the day. I'm sticking with the predicted spread.)

< CCLax -10 (11-1) --CCLax -7 vs M&D West (CC Lax is coming off a tough stretch of games and will double their expected spread)

* FCA -1 (9-8) --M&D Red -2 vs FCA (This is a tough one to call. Almost flipped it to FCA)

= FCA -5 (9-4) --FCA Blue -5 vs NEMS (Not the most interesting game)

< HERO’S W -3 (6-3) --Hero's White -2 vs M&D West (Hero's White will get their first W. US Club Lax is off on this one.)

< HERO’S W – 6 (11-5) Hero's White -4 vs Integrity (2 wins on the day for Hero's White.)

Parents of 2028 players enough glorifying this so called "data guy". All we are doing here is enabling degenerate gambling behavior. Think about this for a second, this a grown man setting lines on your 13-14 year old daughters lacrosse game. This is not something we need to applaud for being right, frankly shame on you parents for allowing this to happen. I was not familiar with this "data guy", or degenerate as we really should be calling him, until I saw a couple of you exclaiming how good a job he did with this weeks picks. I was obviously a bit off put by these statements as what could you possibly mean by "picks?". So I went back and found this post and I am absolutely horrified by what I am seeing. I don't want to even get into all this implications this might have besides the obvious, because if you won't do this for our daughters do it for him, he is clearly an addict who needs gambling so badly that he turns to his daughters lacrosse games and tournaments to relief. So if you know who this man actually is play assist him in seeking professional help and for the rest of us please collectively condemn this behavior

Full moon indeed. This certainly wasn't the type of "engagement" I was looking for. While I'm hoping this was an elaborate, and, if so, pretty effective, troll post, just in case--I feel the need to respond.

First, you can rest assured that NO ONE is gambling on 8th grade club lacrosse, and certainly not using predictions offered on a message board to do so. These are simple predictions/analyses on upcoming games intended to get conversation going about club lacrosse games. Almost every thread on the broader board (high school, club, even the 2030s) has posts like these about upcoming games. A lot of us spend a great deal of time supporting our kids' lacrosse and enjoy talking about how they, and their teams. are developing, becoming more competitive, and advancing the game. Some find it fun to agree/disagree/debate, or according to the above posts, read and enjoy without comment. I will let the people vote, but count your one voice for "condemnation" accordingly.

Second, I have probably placed one or two bets on sports in my entire life--at a legal sports book in Las Vegas during March madness while in my 20s--so please don't worry about me needing any help with gambling.

So if you know who this person actually is, please help them relax, take a deep breath, and maybe not read posts they don't like. Sports might not be your cup of tea.

Original writer here, it was in fact not a troll post. While it gives the slightest reassurance that people are not actually putting money on the games (I figured that was probably the case before writing the post) it does not change the fact that lines on 8th grade girls lacrosse games are still being made. I believe conversation can very easily be had without the creation of lines on these games, and as for that fact that "other threads do it too" is not an excuse for your degenerate behavior. Do not lecture me on spending time supporting your kids as if I do not, but they can be supported with underlying tones of gambling.

Frankly I could not care less that you claim to have only have sports bet 1 or 2 times, whether or not that is true it is not an excuse to make the games our daughters play a way for you get gambling stimulation.

Finally, just because I don't appreciate you making betting lines on my daughters lacrosse game does not mean that I can't enjoy sports the real authentic way and just watch my daughters and others play.

If you cannot distinguish having fun and harmless predictions on the outcomes of an 8th grade girls lacrosse game meant to generate discussion in a positive light, you are beyond hope. Frankly, I was hoping you were just a kid messing around. Sadly, it sounds like you are just an old scold.

I think they are still a great team across the board with comparable talent and depth to Coppermine and Hero’s. The biggest difference (in my opinion) is that Hero’s and Coppermine both have at least 1 elite scorer who can individually create a couple of goals per game. Makes a big difference in close games. I don’t see that player on M&D Black.

What are the odds that this the Queen of the Karens? I'd say +1000.

What are the odds that this the Queen of the Karens? I'd say +1000.

I’ll take the over.

Good description. Also to add that M&D has already played Heros Green, Coppermine, Crush, and Skywalkers. No other team had that challenging of a schedule right out of the gate. Crush was a 1 goal loss in overtime and Heros a 2 goal loss. I am sure like any other team, they will continue to work hard and try to improve.

Yes, meant to include this in a PP but thanks for mentioning. They had the hardest schedule by far. Sometimes the ball does not bounce your way on the field or in the scheduling.

I really hope that the "I'm not a troll person" is just a troll doubling down on the trolling and spoofing what a Karen might say, because if this person is serious, they are badly in need of help. if it offends you, don't read it.

You are clearly a troll with an attempt to make Coppermine parents look bad in addition to bashing 14 year old girls. Look at US club lax ranking scores. Coppermine is the only team to score more than 10 goals on them dating back to last summer. So no one is "racking up goals". And coppermine parents have no need to bash M&D they have won every match up and are generally good people. If you are going to be a troll you should at least do your research.

It is a frequent troll with middle school writing skills as their calling card. The post yesterday at 21:35 is the same person. Be skeptical of any post with shockingly bad writing, as it is likely this troll.

Appears as if some M&D parents are upset by my previous post. It seems that they don't want to take any advice on how to improve their bottom of the barrel team but are rather negligent. Keep being low-class and losing games if that suits you.
