| anyone knows where i could find IUI and IVF or even natural conception stats for secondary infertility (i.e. the usual stats broken by how many biological children the woman has). |
|
Just to clarify - you are looking for a breakdown of the stats only for women who used ART for their second pregancy AND did not use ART for their first pregancy?
You might ask your RE (if you are seeing one) or your OB/GYN if they know of a source for such stats. I have never seen numbers broken down by how the first child was conceived. (Of course, if the woman conceives naturally a second time she does not have secondary infertility, so I am not sure that numbers for the third category you mentioned would really exist.) |

no, i am asking for stats for women who have given birth to a biological child (or more) with or without the use of art. so it's just a simple break-down by number of children, the way they now do it for age.
i hope i don't sound lazy - i did look for this and didn't find it. yet it is seems like a fairly obvious thing to ask and an easy stat to collect. maybe i am missing something. |

I think your question is interesting and as someone who seems to be experiencing secondary infertility (and more specifically, we had one naturally but are having a hard time with the second), I would be interested in these statistics as well. I didn't find them when I looked, and I looked for as many numbers as I could. |
| It would be interesting but I don't think this is a data point that's typically collected. |
| I don't have stats for you, but if you are interested in conceiving a child naturally, there are two amazing books Inconceivable and THe Fertile Female that would support you in this desire. Inconceivable is about a woman who struggles with secondary infertility and ultimately achieves pregnancy on her own. The Fertile Female is an amazing book that helps to explain the mind/body/spirit connection and how to use food to heal our bodies. It explains in detail what Julia did to prepare her body for pregnancy. She also teaches a workshop in Woodstock NY which was a changing day for me. Good luck to you. |
