I recently received an email invitation for its open house. But I am not sure if i am comfortable with the school after checking its inspection records. your thoughts? any discovery woods moms here?

| I don't think they are even opened as a center yet and have been a home daycare which has more laxed rules. I'd give them some time to sort things out. If you aren't comfortable with these violations though (not sure which ones) I would say you probably wouldn't like it too much. They are very small and their whole emphasis is getting kids outdoors and letting kids take some risks. They are not good at organization. They are good at teaching children about the natural world, social skill, and creativity. |

Staff background check? well, i guess she could hire her friends or people she knows very well...
I guess I don't know what types of violations are okay and what are not. |

| We're a Discovery Woods family, and I recommend that you go to the open house and see for yourself. The school is very unique and the best way to see if it's the right "flavor" for you is to meet Rebecca and Andrew (the directors) in person. |

Another discovery woods family here. I think that inspection was odd, but agree that it's a small unique program and not for everyone. I consider myself fairly neurotic and am comfortable with their hiring processes.  Everyone has different thresholds for different violations though.

| I would be concerned only because there are only a few staff so it shouldn't be that hard to keep on on basic paperwork, cpr classes and other trainings. If they don't keep up on that, what else don't they keep up on. Some of it is the parents fault for not returning the paperwork but I would want basics like background checks. They are probably find, but |
