Anonymous
Anyone have a sure fire way to stop receiving those annoying Washington Post Shopping Guide junk mailers in your mailbox every week?

Collect them until you have a huge stack then take them and dump them at the Pos headquarters on 15th street. Wait for police escort to arrive.

lol but seriously, I HATE them - they jam up my teeny mailbox.

Return them to the post office with "RETURN TO SENDER" and "DO NOT SEND UNSOLICITED MAIL TO THIS ADDRESS" marked on it.

Has anyone tried this? Does it actually work? I hate them too OP!

We started getting the Wash Post stuff separately in a plastic bag, thrown in our lawn. It's been the past few weeks. I got a survey from Wash Post regarding this and sent it back complaining.

We're in Maryland. Maybe they'll be switching you over to plastic bag mailers instead?

Why do companies even pay to advertise in these things? Do people actually even look at them? Mine go straight to recycling.

Try calling: 202-334-7730

I saw a thread about this on Fairfax Underground. Let us know if it works!

Me, too. In Montgomery County. I emailed the circulation dept. They said they would stop them. They came the next week, but I realized I didn't get one last week, so hopefully it's stopped.

I got like 3 copies of everything in it. So annoying. Plus I subscribe to the Post so I already had all the food ads.

I just called the number on the back - 202-334-6100. They said they'd stop sending it to me. We'll see what happens!

I have been so frustrated with this mailer. It's not the only one and I also have a teeeeeny mailbox that I am unable to change. So I called the number on the back as well this a.m. 202.334.6100, said "agent" once the recording started and just gave them the address. Easy!

Works. Thanks.

I called that number too and cancelled. 202-334-6100. I wish I had done that a long time ago. What an appalling waste of trees and energy.

Return to Sender won't work. The mailings are bulk rate mail. All that will happen is the postal carrier throws them away. If it were sent as First-Class Mail, it would be returned to the sender's address.

This 202-334-7730 seems to work. I called and the voice mail said that my address will be removed.

I can't stand them. We maintain my parents part time home here and their tiny mailbox fills up weekly with those damn things and the mailman keeps leaving notes for us. So annoying! I wish I could turn off their mailbox!
