And is he an alcoholic?
|
| Maybe one or two glasses (of wine...or one or two beers) , a couple times a week. No, he is not an alcoholic. |
| A couple times a month |
| None except at functions months a part |
| My husband is a binge drinker when he drinks. So he avoids it for the most part and maybe drinks once everyday two months now. If he drank everyday night I am not sure I could handle his mood swings. |
| DH makes his own beer and drinks at least one pint every night- frequently two (yes, every single night). We've both wondered whether he's an alcoholic - and he did start making his beer a little lower in alcohol (mostly so he could drink more of it, i think). He's slender and fit and extremely productive, a good provider, a musician (frequently filling our home with live music), a great father, husband, family member. I've rarely seen him drunk (2-3 or 4 times in 12 years). We decided if this is alcoholic, bring it on. |
| None ever. I have a glass of wine a few times a week. |

If you are asking the question, you already know the answer.
And on top of it, alcoholism is not a simple issue of volume. |
You first. How much does YOUR dh drink and is HE an alcoholic. GO! |
So what you are saying is that he's a functioning alcoholic and you are an enabler that is very good at making excuses for him. Yes? Am I correct? A functioning alcoholic can be all the things you mentioned above and STILL be an alcoholic. Get a clue - http://rethinkingdrinking.niaaa.nih.gov/IsYourDrinkingPatternRisky/WhatsYourPattern.asp |
| 1/2 - 1 bottle of wine many nights of the week. Genuine / serious question: what makes someone an alcoholic? How do you know? I think he drinks too much, too often & have told him. I rarely drink. |
| 22:35- you read my mind. I was thinking the same. |
| None. However, all the husbands of all my friends who are married to white men drink a couple of beers a night. |
| Apparently not enough. |
