alternatives to Playseum for older kids

Anonymous
In the past couple of years, my kid (now 7) has gone to Playseum and liked it. We went a few months ago b/c she asked but she actually seemed bored after a short time.

She asked to go again recently b/c I think she remembers the past being fun, but I really think she's outgrown it.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to an alternative? TIA.

That's a great suggestion. I was also thinking of something a little closer to home if anything comes to mind.

Hey, great ideas! I never knew about the Aviation Museum in College Park but just checked it out online and it looks great for kids!

On the subject of kid-friendly museums, the Walters in Baltimore is great, too.

Has anyone been to the American Visionary Museum in Baltimore? I have a group of 10/11 year old girls and Port Discovery was suggested but seems a bit young.

In NoVa, have you been to the Heritage Farm Museum (Sterling)? It is lovely, small (so very manageable), and has some great hands-on things for kids K-6, at least.

It is great. I took some 12 years olds who loved it.
