Sidwell Camps

Does anyone have feedback on Sidwell's camps? In particular the Mini Explorers camp for a 3 year old and the soccer camp for a 6 year old? Thanks!

Both my son and daughter have done the Sidwell Summer soccer camps. My daughter had so much fun she did the winter clinic this past winter (9 years old). I really like the director and the various staff (college age players). Good skill work and always the favorite small sided games. We'll be back for a few weeks this summer.

I have never been part of the Mini Camp, but it looks to be something new for Sidwell this year...although it seems to be a branch off their Junior Explorers program which was awesome! My little one LOVED it! He was a Red Fish (3 - 3 1/2 year olds) and did not want to leave Ms. Jodie at the end of the summer. He did yoga, cooking, science and other things that made him feel like a grown up, as he said. His big brother was in the Explorer Day Camp so he thought it was pretty cool that they did some of the same things.

I have never had either of my campers do the soccer program during the summer, but my 7 year old participated in Sidwell's Winter Soccer Clinics with Coach Lester - the same man who runs their summer program from my understanding, and he loved it! Lester and his staff seem to really understand how to adapt drills to fit that 6-8 year old age range.

If you're on the fence I say definitely go for it!

My then six-year old was in tennis camp 2011. He loved it. He will do a couple of sessions this summer.

I would love her to obtain actual skills. Do you feel like this is a good choice?
