Recs for NOVA playgroups/social skills groups

DS was recently diagnosed with Aspergers. I have been looking around for social skills groups or play groups but have not had any luck in northern va, especially for his age (nearly 3). Any direction is much appreciated! I am so overwhelmed with the whole process and feel like I am just moving at a snails pace at getting DS all the resources he needs.

Children's Speech and Language in Arlington on Columbia Pike run a social skills group for kids starting age 3, you should give them a call. My son is about the same age as your and has high-functioning autism, we were very happy with them.

Have you tried to get services through child find? He would probably get speech which often acts somewhat like a social group..and it is free : )

thanks for the answers. We have gone through Child Find and is currently in special ed with speech, but dev. ped. was suggesting we do more outside of school.
