Dr. Caskie or Dr. Williams

Does anyone have experience with either of these two doctors? Did you deliver at Arlington Hospital Center -- did you find the facility and staff to be up-to-date and welcoming and responsive? I delivered my first child at GW and loved my doctor and the patient care I received from the hospital staff, however, I spent a lot of time in the waiting room for one of the 100 ob check-ups. I'm thinking second time around, all that time in the waiting room isn't so practical anymore with a full-time job and a little boy I'm eager to hang out with any chance I get.

Any insights would be appreciated. Please email emily.carlsen@gmail.com.

I go to this practice and have for 3 years now. I saw all of the doctors during my pregnancy, but Dr. Williams delivered my son. I ADORE her - she is a brilliant woman. In my opinion you can't go wrong with this practice. I have friends who go to practices and pray that one or 2 (or more) of the doctors aren't the ones on call when they deliver. Not here. I would have felt totally comfortable with any of these doctors. The waits were never very long - they try and get you in and out, but are still very patient with questions, advice, concerns, etc. I delivered at AHC and thought it was a terrific hospital.

And I just saw that you said to email you...lol. So if there's anything else I can add just post and I'll email you!

Not the OP, but I too am thinking to switching to a practice that delivers at VHC this time around (last time for me was Georgetown). This is one of the practices that has been recommended to me (also Piness and Lashgari/Elliott) - so please post thoughts here so we can all benefit!

I used this practice and delivered at VHC. I love this practice - Dr. Williams was my primary doctor (even before I was pregnant), but during my pregnancy I saw all three doctors and Dr. Cobb actually delivered my baby. I was pretty surprised I had one of the practice's doctors deliver my daughter, since I was induced on Christmas Eve! I also like Dr. Caskie a lot - she ended up answering a lot of my initial questions about pregnancy because I had her at one of my first appointments. Sometimes the doctors can get a little rushed, but generally they are good about taking time with you to answer questions and are very thorough. Dr. Williams is the head of obsteterics at VHC, I believe. I also really loved VHC - my labor nurse was incredible, and all the other nurses were good too. The individual rooms and in-room meal service made for a comfortable stay. I could go on and on - I was really happy with the practice and VHC.

Love both of them. Caskie delivered DS but liked Williams a lot too, along with Cobbs (third doctor in that practice).

Was not thrilled with the nursing care at VA Hospital Center, but I guess it wasn't horrible or anything. It was my first hospital stay, and I just felt like I had to beg for attention.

I recently switched to Lashgari/Elliott for pregnancy #2. I ended up having a miscarriage and a d&c, but I cannot tell you how kind and compassionate they were. As great as they were in such a rough situation, I am convinced they will be awesome when I have happier news. I have several friends who delivered with them and I heard great things.
