Looking for info on the Building Bridges program at Karasik

Is anyone here in this PEP class? How has it been so far? Do you know if/when they will hire a full time, permanent teacher?

I know that Tricia Skelly, who was the best PEP teacher at Stephen Knowles, moved over to Karasik to head that program this year. She's fantastic.

I looked into it at the end of last year. I assume you are interested because of the seamless daycare transitions, which was what piqued my interest. It sounded ideal, and I'm glad they found a good teacher, but ultimately decided against it for the following reasons: I didn't like the fact that all of the kids would be grouped together regardless of ability/need/issues (not a good situation for my kid). I didn't like the fact that all the specialists would be itinerant which, to my mind meant fewer, bigger blocks of services. No bussing made it less convenient for us. I found the admin people on the daycare side pretty disorganized. I was promised packets of info in the mail twice, which never came. The person who was supposed to give us a tour at an appt failed to show and then never followed up after the fact. That being said, the care is supposed to be pretty good. Hope it works out for you. We're doing bus to PEP and then drop off at daycare but that only works if you can start late.
