Replacing electric range

We need to replace our electric stove. We currently have one with a glass cooktop. I have not loved cooking with it. I would prefer a gas range but we do not have a gas hook up. Can anyone recommend their electric range? Does anyone buy stoves with electric coils anymore? Any better than the cooktop? We are not looking for anything that is super high-end. Thanks!

Ever thought about induction cooktop? If it's too expensive, some ranges have 1 burner as induction.
