| Two baquette diamonds fell out of my wedding ring setting after 12 years. I bought replacement diamonds and had it reset at a reputable local jewelry store. It cost me about 250 to redo plus the cost of the diamonds (800). Two months later I looked down at my ring and sure enough, one is gone. Am I just out of luck? Does the jewelry store owe me anything? I can see how they'd be off the hook after a period of time it's not like I am going back years later, but seems to me that I should expect my ring to stay intact 2 months. What would you expect if it were you? Just trying to gauge what is reasonable. Thanks |
Either their repair work was guaranteed or it was not. Check your paperwork. |

If you didn't lose them after whacking your hand, that seems shady to me.
Was it a jewelry store in Cleveland or Woodley Park? We got my engagement ring there, and one of the baguettes wobbled from the start. I pointed this out to the jeweler, and he seemed fake surprised. In my gut I felt like he was aiming to make $$ replacing a diamond. |
| my jewelry always has warranty.... did you check if they issued a warranty for their service? |
| OP here I just reread the receipt--it doesn't mention any type of warranty or lack of. I'm going to go in tomorrow in person and see what they are willing to do. I just wanted to see what seemed reasonable to others. I did not whack the ring on anything or hit it or anything. Just daily wear. |
No warranty policy? My guess is you are screwed. Find someone with a warranty policy. |
| If you are screwed, make sure to post a review online pls (and let them know). |
