East Silver Spring Elementary and After Care

I have a child starting kindergarten at east silver spring elementary this month. I am starting to wonder about after care choices -- other than what is currently offered in school.

Are any parents out there -- parents of an east silver spring elementary student? Would you be interested in speaking about aftercare choices?

Also, does anyone know about good after care options in the downtown silver spring/takoma park area?

Has anyone had success hiring a nanny or babysitter just to do pick up and aftercare? If so, how would you recommend finding a person that would work 2-3 hours in the afternoon? Also, any other comments about this approach?
