We are planning to move to the above school district and would be grateful for any feedback (good or bad) about the schools there. Thank you.

All the schools in Burke are good. I don't mean to be vague or flippant, but it's true. You'll be fine with any of those schools.

I am not sure who the principal is now, but 2 years ago there was a wonderful gentlemen running the school. We were moving here from California and bid on a house in that are. I called the school with various questions and he was WONDERFUL - so helpful and informative, really took his time with us, even though we were not even living there. We ended up buying a house elsewhere, but I really liked Cherry Run! Also, my DD's current teacher did her student teaching at Cherry Run and said it was very good.

We have friends whose children go to White Oak and they have nothing but good things to say about it.

I agree with the above posters- you can't go wrong with any of the schools in Burke. And Lake Braddock is great for both middle school and high school. Good program, good teachers- the school's test scores are right up there among the best Fairfax county high schools. In fact, for 2011, Lake Braddock's SAT critical reading and math scores were sixth in the county.

I went to Lake Braddock and would not send my child there. In fact, my experience at Lake Braddock is one of the main reasons that we are sending ours to private school.

PP 14:34. What has been your experience with aap at White Oaks? Have you found the curriculum more challenging? Any differentiation in the classroom? How much homework does your child get? Thanks!

PP 00:11 Are there any good private school options in the Burke area? Thanks!

Lake Braddock has been going downhill for years. Burke is one of the most backwards suburbs around and really homogeneous.

The demographics at LB line up pretty closely with Fairfax County, one of the most diverse counties in the country, as a whole. You may have other issues with the school, but that observation is demonstrably false.
