| My DS is 11 months old and develped dark undereye circles around 6 months of age. The right eye cleared up a little but it's still noticeable. But the left eye is really bad. It looks like as if he was punched in the eye. This is not allergic shiners. I know what that looks like because my daughter has that. I don't understand why one eye looks worse than the other. The pediatrician says it could not be a sinus infection b/c babies that young cannot have sinus infections. The pediatrician has nothing to say about it other than it might be allergies. I do not think it's allergies. He does not rub his eyes at all. Any thoughts on a specialist that I can see (ENT, etc) that could help me get a clearer picture of what is going on with my son would be greatly appreciated. |
| Is the baby getting any iron supplements or vit. D? |
| yes, maybe anemic or has allergies. I would take him to an allergist. |
| I second looking into allergies. |
I started giving him iron supplements about 1 1/2 months ago. He was anemic. His numbers are climbing above normal levels now. I haven't given him any vitamin d supplements. I try to get him out in the sun but I'm not able to do so every day. |
Any recommendations for an allergist in Mont. County? |
Thanks! I will make an appointment with them.

| The circles and anemia both suggest milk allergy to me. Good luck! |
| Is there anyone in particular you would recommend at the Institute for Asthma & Allergy? |
I've seen two different docs there. Both were great, so my guess anyone at the practice would be worthwhile. |
