I have a 12 mo old who has always been a fussy eater. She just does not like food. To make things worse, she has not been able to transition to solid foods. Any consistency thicker than a puree makes her gag and throw up! Very messy, and frustrating. Right now we give her rice cereal and number 2 foods. Help! Any one with similar issues???
my son did the not eating solids at that age too. pediatrician said not to worry about it, some kids have a gag reflex for longer. keep introducing solids but very slowly. i slowly mixed things into stuff he would eat...funny thing is he was willing to eat cookies way before other solids. check with your pediatrician though because there are kids for whom this is really a physical problem and they need OT.
My DD was the same way and then all of a sudden, she started to take to finger foods. Keep trying and putting food on the tray. We had success this way...but it took time and was frustratting.
