SO after a year of trying (after two miscarraiges) we are pregnant again!! I am excited but also very scared too...I feel like I am being super sensitive to how I feel b/c of my past experiences and that is concerning me as I dont want to get "caught up" in every cramp ...
My 1st is almost three and to be honest I have forgotten what it feels like to be pregnant this early on...I am about 6 weeks so it is REALLY early...I have my first Dr appt in two weeks-but what is "normal"...as it relates to "back soreness" and "cramps"..I dont have much of either but they are definitely there just a bit...When I went on line to review the symptoms of pregnancy they say that lower back pain (soreness) and crampiness is actually a sign of pregnancy and getting your period-It is not my period obviously ...I think I am being paranoid-but I am so nervous ...but want to enjoy this pregnancy as it truly is a gift... Any advice or feedabck would be greatly appreciated. |
Hi and congratulations on your pregnancy!
I had crampy/pulling feelings and slight back pain the first few weeks - very normal. Lots of things completely different from my first - so it was a bit scary at first, but everything is going great (just saw the heartbeat today at my 8 week sonogram). I also didn't/don't really have any breast soreness like the first time, and very little nausea that only settled in several days ago. The one thing kicking my butt is the fatigue! Man - maybe it's my age (35) but I am a zombie! There is SUCH a wide range of normal. From having every symptom in the book, to having nothing. I know you must be nervous - but try to relax, meditate and take it day by day. Have you had a chance to speak with your ob/gyn about any of this. They may let you come in for a blood test to check your Hcg levels. My did that as routine and it was very reassuring. A good book is Your Pregnancy Week by Week. I liked it, wasn't borderling scary like What to Expect when You're expecting, lol. I love your attitude - it IS a gift and I often remind myself of that when feeling crummy. Good luck and I wish nothing but happy and healthy weeks to follow and a beautiful new baby in 8 monhts! xo |
congratulations i just found out i am pregnant with baby #2 too !! pretty exciting ... i am 5 weeks pregnant... the symptoms that i experianced that made me feel pregnant were.. i urinated often ,,, especially at night... i was bloated and gassy ... i felt really full after eating. and my belly is hard .. |
Congras!
I've been told you need to take it easy for the next 2 months, avoid housework, reaching for things (is a no no), try not to carry heavy things off course and stay away from paint if you can. And relax and enjoy your pregnancy! |
12/29 poster 21:05..I never heard about the "reaching for things" ...being a no, no..what is that all about? I have a 33 mnth old-not carrying him is sometimes diffficult...I didnt realize that too could be an issue |
I think the "not reaching things" is old advice that our mothers were given because it was thought the cord could wrap around baby's head. I don't think that advice is still current. As for carrying your toddler, but ob said it isn't going to hurt a healthy pregnancy to carry your toddler. |
I am in the final days of pregnancy (after two miscarriages last year as well). I think taking good care of yourself and trying not to worry are the most important things to do. Try to eat healthfully (if you can) and get lots of rest. My doctor also advised me to cut back on exercise for hormonal reasons which, in my case, may have contributed to past losses. (I didn't believe it entirely, but I cut back anyway.) I also completely cut out caffeine even though consumption in small amounts is considered okay. Don't worry about trying to figure out minor symptoms this early on unless you are cramping badly or bleeding. Congratulations! |
congrats!!
my DS was born after two miscarriages -- i totally know how you feel. i literally could barely believe i was pregnant and didn't really "trust" it until they handed him to me! i look forward to my next pregnancy and hope that perhaps then i can "enjoy" it. best of luck to you! |
