County to take Chevy Chase Country Club for new middle school!

April Fools! But wouldn't that be great? Lots of space for sports fields.

I wish .

I love this so much!! LOL and, by the way, what a great idea

State to run light rail through Columbia Country Club golf course! Ha ha!

Oh, wait, that's no joke.

Grrr.

Maybe they would be willing to sell the part of the CC golf course that is to the north of the tracks.

The sad part is that as a matter of policy - it should be turned into either a school location and/or a park. But it won't happen. The urban downcounty does not need a private country club. But rank has its privileges!

A matter of policy? Are you some kind of socialist? That country club has been there since the 1920's. How do you justify the county coming in and taking their land?

They took peoples land to build the ICC didn't they?

The ICC had been in the master plan for decades.

So if we make a plan to take the land for something in 20 years, that will be decades, the. We can take their land by your logic.

That's certainly what's happening to Rock Creek Hills Park! (rimshot)

That public park cannot be compared with the land owned by a private country club. (miss)

The posters on this thread are truly the most uninformed people I have ever seen post.

You either have no clue or you were born last month. Kensington Junior High School sat on that land for over fifty years before it was torn down. The county retained ownership of the land. Now they want to build another school there which is their right.
